I love running the ball, too. So I really try to use it to set up the pass. If you run, run, run, a play action pass will almost always catch them off guard.

Make sure your feet are set before you throw it. Once the pressure is on, you'll be scrambling a lot, but really try to stop for a second before you throw it. Once you do throw it, don't move the stick, it can sometimes make the pass go astray.

Some passes I've found that work well: underneath routes to the wide recievers, over the middle to the running backs, short out-routes to the tight ends. I've never had much luck with deep posts and out-and-ups.

But maybe the best thing you can do is watch the defense! If they're coming after you, throw over them, if they're dropping back, throw under them.
